Square Hole Comedy - Monday 10th November - Red Deer

Recommended Posts

Winter is coming and so November’s Square Hole will be full of Northernness. Even more Northern than here, because we’ve invited our acts for the night from the North East and beyond the wall. I say invited; they heard about the free cake and there was no stopping them. So save yourselves some pennies and book in advance or, alternatively, take advantage of the food/drinks & ticket deals detailed below.

John Scott

First stepping on stage in 1999 at the prestigious Stand Comedy Club, Scott was immediately recruited to perform in their Edinburgh fringe show, Stand Up Scotland. He’s since returned to the fringe on multiple occasions, performing sketch comedy with Miles Jupp and others which culminated in the development of a show for BBC Scotland. He later won the Scottish segment of the Spike Milligan Award for new talent, the Take The Mike award, and has since established himself a much sought-after headline act on the comedy circuit and performed a critically acclaimed run at the Adelaide Comedy Festival. His current brainchild is the political satire panel show ‘Sod The Tories and Have a Nice Week’ at The Stand in Newcastle, which he hosts each month with support from a coalition of fellow comics.

‘Always plays a blinder. Never hits a dry patch. People were literally in tears of laughter.’ – Edinburgh Evening News

‘Among the top 5 comics emerging from Scotland’ – The Observer

‘Superb! The stand out stand up of the evening.’ – Adelaide Rocks

‘A genuinely gifted comedian.’ –The Skinny

Lee Kyle

Armed with props and a rapid gag rate, former professional wrestler Lee Kyle cuts a confident, if off-beat figure on stage. His jokes veer between the clever and the silly and deliver more than their fair share of belly laughs. Instantly likeable, Lee is quick thinking and witty with a well-written, beautifully crafted and, most importantly, hilarious set of jokes.

‘Very funny’ – Manchester Evening News

‘Quirky and original’ – Giggle Beats

‘One of the regions best up and coming comic performers.’ – BBC Radio Tees
