I3lade4life   10 #1 Posted November 6, 2014 I am trying my hand at my 1st PC build. I purchased a case with a USB 3.0 port but the motherboard doesnt support it. Is there a PCI card that I can buy that which will allow me to plug the cable from the port into it aswell as maybe adding some extra ports at the rear? Ghozer   112 #2 Posted November 6, 2014 You can buy USB 3.0, PCI/PCI-e cards yes....  You should be able to plug those ports into a standard USB 2.0 header on your board though... they will still work, just as USB 2.
 Share this content via...
Guest   #3 Posted November 6, 2014 What is the cable like? Is it a standard 9-pin for USB 2.0? USB 3.0 cables tend to be the bigger 19-pin jobbies these days, I have a PCIe USB 3 card but it has no header on the board so I still can't use it. The OP is after a USB 3.0 card not something that uses it.
 Share this content via...
