If you don't have one spare send me a PM and I will try the card in one of my computers.  m&p.
 Share this content via...
dannio   10 #3 Posted November 1, 2014 Typically with a dead card you won't see any graphics at all IF the machine passes POST and actually boots.  Do you get the POST behavior beep? (if your motherboard does beep).  Also, if your motherboard is of an older spec, it may be worth checking the PCI-E speed of your MOBO and the the speed of the GFX card? 2's Company   10 #4 Posted November 1, 2014 Hi it's a dell optiplex 330 system with pci e 16x slot. The card is pci e 2.0 but I have been told it would work. Also no beep a and no post just saying not populated in bios and no signal when plugged into the card.
 Share this content via...
dannio   10 #5 Posted November 1, 2014 Silly question - but the PCI- slot is active in the BIOs?  I also did some digging and according the following:  Your Mobo is actually PCI-E v1.1 x16 (see Tech Spec Sheet search the doc for "Controller Bus Architecture")  Your card is PCIe 2.0 which generally will work in a 1.x x16 slot but note the word "generally".  It's worth taking the card out - booting into Windows and running a tiny download - CPU-z and;  Under the Mainboard Tab - you can view your Graphics Interface details  Under the Graphics Tab - You can drop the top box down to see available slots/interfaces open to your system.  CPU-z is tiny and free - you can get it here: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.71-en.zip  Let us know how you get on/your results  ---------- Post added 01-11-2014 at 10:03 ----------  Also found noted that your stock power supply supports PCIe slot provided power up to ~70w IIRC so maybe check the power consumption of the new card.  Do you have the model and revision number of the card? 2's Company   10 #6 Posted November 1, 2014 I tried cpu-z last night it only showed the on board Gma. I also flashed the bios and cleared the cmos. In the bios I have it set to the PEG setting not auto but have tried both.
 Share this content via...

Geobow   10 #11 Posted November 11, 2014 You could try running ATIflash or NVflash with the -i command, if no adapters are found then it's probably dead
 Share this content via...
