Self Defence or Martial Art Recommendations

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a good self defence or practical martial arts class in Sheffield?

Ideally something that is pay as you train rather than a monthly contract.

Thanks all

Watching this with interest. Is Wing Chun suitable for women as well? I have always wanted to learn some practical form of self-defense and wondering if this would be something that female beginners might be able to learn?

Mimi83, Wing chun was said to have been invented by a woman, but if you look at most videos on YouTube you would not really think so.

I am starting a new class teaching Wing Chun at Ecclesall Parish Halls on Thursday 20th November. There will a free demo and lesson and we will be able to answer any questions you have.

The method we teach is entirely suitable for women as it relies on relaxation and proper use of body mass. Check out our website

I can't remember the name of the club, but there is/was a guy called Lotar who used to post on here, his club was near London Road and was based around Krav Maga/Kapap (Israeli Special Forces stuff), from memory this was all practical, no sporting element.

I studied regulary under Craig for some time (and still attend the odd seminar he puts on) I would highly recommend him.
