Allen   38 #1 Posted September 30, 2014 Just before I left Sheffield I scattered my wife's ashes in the crematorium. On my last visit to Sheffield some months ago I was dismayed to find the gates locked and no access....they close at what I considered an unreasonable hour, and there was no access at 7pm in the evening on a summers day!  I shall be visiting again in November. This time I shall be sure to arrive during the opening hours.  My question...... Am I allowed to visit the gardens with my dog, well controlled, on a lead. Surely I'm not the only widower who has a dog for company?
 Share this content via...

Allen   38 #5 Posted October 1, 2014 Thanks mda.... I did the same and no info available about dogs. Just wondering if others have taken a dog in the gardens..... Obviously I could just leave the dog in the car whilst having those "private moments" of reflection and no doubt shedding a tear or two. perplexed   10 #9 Posted October 1, 2014 In my opinion, dogs should not be permitted in burial grounds. Without wishing to upset anyone, it just seems wholly inappropriate. Other people have loved ones remains there too.  Dogs are not allowed in the cemetary where my relations are, and rightly so. samba   10 #10 Posted October 1, 2014 I go up there once a week and I have seen people with dogs, they are always on leads, not running about. I was chatting to an old chap who was laying flowers on his wifes' memorial and he had a little dog with him who was his only company now his wife had passed away. I think the people who do take their dogs with them tend to be responsible owners.
 Share this content via...
