Mr Bloom   10 #5 Posted January 24, 2015 It's great to see this return to Sheffield - thank you bassett one.  I can't understand, if it's free and at no cost to the taxpayer, why it didn't continue at Norfolk Park though. Is it the same even planning company?
 Share this content via...
bassett one   452 #6 Posted January 24, 2015 its the same company, event planners and we have added knights in battle from Sheffield and escafeld to what used to be at Norfolk park so its bigger than ever ,plus we will have top pop bands at the other end, plus funfair,250 classic cars and stalls and free entry and dog show/agility ect,set out over several acres of park land, the re-enactments do of course cost several thousand pounds, but our event isn't run by scc so the tax/ratepayer doesn't subsidise our event, but I feel sure the Sheffield public will embrace this huge bigger than ever re-enactments. Mr Bloom   10 #7 Posted January 24, 2015 Sounds great. Thanks bassett one. If you don't mind me asking, where does the several thousand pounds come from to fund it, then? Is it from private/charitable grants?
 Share this content via...
bassett one   452 #8 Posted January 24, 2015 we have sponsors, donations and due to the size of the event lots of payments from stalls, funfair operators, many food outlets,we receive the park space free from scc,we also have help from local retailors, but without the 12-15 thousand footfall it wouldn't be possible,we don't have any wages only small amounts for food allowances and receive tremendous support from many other groups,we will of course be having a great main arena with some great bands and dancers, but the whole festival is run by the greenhill/bradway tenants association and the friends of greenhill park only,we also have the Sheffield star as a main sponsor thanks.
