Driving Instructor Megathread - Part 3 - DO NOT ADVERTISE IN HERE

Recommended Posts

Are there any reliable and good driving instructors that want business. My friend and has been trying for over 3 weeks to speak to someone. What is required is an intensive course with an automatic car. T

The timeline is hopefully 4 weeks time if possible, start on the Monday test on the Friday. She has had lessons and is based in S2, has passed the theory. Is looking at spending maximum of £600.

She has left countless messages both by phone and email to countless people and not one reply. So here we are on Sheffield forum.

I'd love to hear how you get on with this.

- Most ADI's fill their diaries with non-intensive pupils but there are those who specialise in intensive. Whether your timescale would work for any of them ... ?

- most ADI's drive manuals and won't therefore be able to offer auto lessons.

- you don't mention theory test, so is that already done and dusted?

- the DVSA lead times on tests is a lot longer than 4 weeks so your timescale is a little short. For one of these few ADI's to have a test time on a Friday going spare ...

- max £600? Including test fees?

Have any ADI's replied with a polite "get real!" ?

Thank you for you reply it answers why not one driving instructor has bothered to reply, great news that they are that busy they do not want more advance business. I . Just a final add she has passed theory and was expecting to pay for test on top of the £600.

If the theory is done and dusted then 4 weeks in an automatic providing the test has been booked can be possible. Let's say the test fee is separate then that's about 24-28 lessons . So if you do 4-5 a week till the test then your progression level will be alot better. It also depends on the driver. I've had some that pass in 15-20 lessons.

Unfortunately i do just manual so can't help. :(:D

Hello, I'm looking for a driving instructor that is based in S8 area (Woodseats) in Sheffield. Can be a male or female I don't mind as long they're patience. Preferably to be taught by an instructor that has taught students with learning difficulties such as Autism.

Thanks.

does anyone get taught to indicate these days ? i frequently see young drivers failing to do so , and have even seen instructors not bothering. when i learnt to drive i was told i was learning to drive.. not just to pass my test. seems like instructors and pupils couldn't care less anymore .

To answer your question, yes they do. And nothing has changed. We should indicate for the benefit of others.

In what contexts are you seeing a lack of indications?

i see it All the time, especially young drivers who must have passed their tests fairly recently. (though some older ones too)

mostly turning right at busy crossroads or left at traffic lights where it is NOT a filter i.e. you don't know they are turning until they do
