mossdog   10 #1 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Last night a young Tawny Owl flew into our upstairs bedroom window. We found it this morning in shutdown mode. When I picked it up it struggled a little and it's wings flapped momentarily. Currently I have placed it up the garden between some vegetable plots.and it just sits there with it's eyes closed with no desire to move. I am concerned that if still there this evening a Fox or Cat might attack it. Any ideas from some on here, what may be the best course of action?  Thanks in advance for any help! melv   16 #6 Posted September 4, 2014 Is there any chance you could put him a cardboard box, then place it in a tree with the lid open. The parents might come & feed him.
 Share this content via...
Stranza   10 #7 Posted September 4, 2014 Can you not take owls to a vet? Like you can with abandoned/injured cats or would it have to be a special wildlife type vet?  I wouldn't be able to go near it I'm terrified of owls.
 Share this content via...

megalithic   10 #10 Posted September 4, 2014 I would get it to a vet they will know who to contact.  Indeed, and asap. It needs to be in the right environment with other owls too, as if it becomes imprinted there's no chance of it ever being released.
