figgy   10 #1 Posted September 3, 2014 I'm looking for someone to install a wet room at my mum and dads house.  It is my mum who physically needs the wet room to use but both my parents suffer from differing stages of dementia.    I am aware that with any kind of building or plumbing work there is always the possibility that job can 'go bad' or an installation may need some remedial work but I would really like to hear from someone who may have had a wet room installed recently or from a tradesman who can provide recent testimonials (with photos preferably).  I also need someone who can start the work ASAP.  Thank you
 Share this content via...
Jomie   30 #2 Posted September 3, 2014 I cannot help you with recommendations for someone to install a wet room but from what you describe there may be easier and simpler alternatives. Have you had an assessment by Social Services? They may be able to loan a hydraulic bath seat which could be a safer alternative for someone who is unsteady on their feet. Of course they may need some supervision with this but they are really super devices and the person gets to have a nice soak in warm water. As they both suffer from dementia it is possible that the disruption involved in this work, plus the different layout could confuse them more. figgy   10 #3 Posted September 5, 2014 Hi Jolie Thanks for your reply. It's very sound advice but we have exhausted those possibilities already and due to mums continuing physical deterioration the wet room was the only option.  Unfortunately since I posted mum has been taken into hospital again but it is very good of you to take the time to offer your assistance.
