999tigger   10 #38 Posted August 31, 2014 Because Premier Inn missed a massive trick  Ok as you choose not to answer because thats a bit beyond you as usual.  1. The music store closed because it was losing money and failing as a business. IT had NOTHING to do with the 99p shop. To balme the 99p shop for its closure makes you look special.  2. A restauarant didnt move in here because nobody thought it was a good enough site to make money from. You are a fool Bedders. Jim Hardie   527 #42 Posted August 31, 2014 Sheffield needs fewer pound shops and more up market stores such as Harvey Nichols, Versace, Dolce & Gabana and Banff and Olufsen.  It's retailers that decide what Sheffield needs and they're usually right. BEDROCK Â Â 10 #43 Posted September 1, 2014 It is those who are fools that shop in these places and moan when things fall to bits, you get what you pay for in this world and regarding these stores it's the lowest common denominator! nitrambran   10 #44 Posted September 1, 2014 It is those who are fools that shop in these places and moan when things fall to bits, you get what you pay for in this world and regarding these stores it's the lowest common denominator!  Some say that Sheffield has not got enough disposable income when the average person earns less than £500 a week, so its no surprise that pound shops do well in the city.  There is not enough job creation and investments. Give us some examples of people moaning about what they buy from the 99p store. Do you ever shop there?  Things like toiletries or groceries perfectly fine and much more sense than paying twice as much for the same product elsewhere. 999tigger   10 #47 Posted September 6, 2014 Sheffield needs fewer pound shops and more up market stores such as Harvey Nichols, Versace, Dolce & Gabana and Banff and Olufsen.  Not really. A retailer will come here if it thinks it can make money. The fact you think Dolce and Gabana or Harvey Nics might come here is rather alarming. If you hadnt noticed Sheffield isnt very prosperous, what money there is tends to leak to Meadowhall and for a shop to make money it needs customers.  ---------- Post added 06-09-2014 at 18:26 ----------  Poudland is way better quality than 99p stores. Go there.  Disagree, there are more bargains in the 99p store because they get end of line products whereas £land just ask manufacturers to make them products worth £1. Meadowhall does that where as sheffield city centre dosnt . Thats why the city centre is full of pound shops, pawn shops, bookies and Greggs.
