Paying for sex debate has reached Radio 4

That's a fair point and of course if you're a businessman you need an attractive partner on your arm when attending social functions too.

And why's that Rickie?

ALIMONY and child support. Say goodbye to your wallet forever.

God forbid wallet man you should ever consider supporting your offspring and the person supporting them, while you prop up some lonely corner of a bar sapping the life out of misfortunates who made the mistake of parking themselves near you.

Hic!!

I have no offspring to support, because I'm able to use EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD JUDGMENT when it comes to making permanent decisions that will effect my life negatively forever. But mostly because I'm not a muppet.

and the person supporting them,

Oh yes, supporting them with MY money! supporting the kids that SHE wanted and that I didn't. Whilst not cleaning the house or cooking me any nice food, whilst still coming at me with lots of demands and not giving me any sex whilst restricting me from having sex with anyone else. I pity the average married Joe so much, could literally cry for him.

True, women can end up with low achievers who do sweet fa apart from keep the TV warm while the woman is out usually struggling trying to keep it together. Initially it's chocs and flowers and running around like a demented sexual retard..that wears off after a few weeks of watching porn they then expect gymnastics while themselves unable to lift a buttock because it weighs the same as a 50Kg bag of spuds. Nothing like describing a monochrome one sided picture is there.

Yes, there is always two sides to a situation, so yes there are lard a****s laying on the sofa like a beached whale, expecting their partner to keep tidy. It does not change the points made by Couttsy. It just means these guys that you speak slobbering in front of the TV have burnt all their bridges. The road down hill is very easy. If the partner of these type of blokes takes off, what is left? A living room strewn with empty Carling cans and an overflowing ashtray?

As a man far more intelligent, charismatic and funny than me once said:

I don't understand why prostitution is illegal. Selling is legal, sex is legal. So, why isn't it legal to sell sex? (Cleaned up slightly for forum consumption)

Apparently it's ok to give it away for free, but even if both parties are happy about a financial transaction, that's somehow wrong. Crazy!

Rickie stayed classy and said mail order bride.

You could be a little bit more appreciative to be honest. We are trying to help you to get yours and you're giving us back attitude.

That's an oxymoron surely?

Where were you 20 years ago when I needed advice?

At first thoughts it is easy to see the confusion, but quite easy to follow.

Allow me- Selling sex is legal. Buying sex is legal. But, behind closed doors, not in a public place.

However, I cannot offer any explanation why brothels are not permitted.

Note: Massage parlours are brothels that are ignored. ;)

I was probably watching your movies Ron and then trying out some of your techniques. :D

Why, do you have a cautionary tale to tell which could benefit any young men who haven't fallen into the trap of marriage as a way to pay for their sex? A chance for you to save a soul maybe.

I think there's an interesting debate to be had here, but sadly this isn't it ....

As has been mentioned, derailed by a fool.

People who enjoy alcohol can buy as much alcohol as they want and get drunk, people who like chocolate and cakes can buy as much of the stuff as they like and become obese, yet neither are as taboo as somebody paying for something as natural (and arguably much healthier than the aforementioned) as sex.

The state should have no place in interfering in such a transaction between consenting adults imo, the law should only intervene to prevent it happening under duress (eg people being trafficked or forced into sex work).
