jaffa1 Â Â 10 #73 Posted December 11, 2014 Beware of the black cabs. My daughter had a terrifying experience last weekend when she was travelling home in a black cab, the driver started to drive down a duel carriage way on the wrong side. She started to tell him that he was not supposed to go that way but he could barely understand English and obviously couldn't read English road signs. Doesn't the council vet these drivers before allowing them to carry passengers?
 Share this content via...
Minimo   59 #74 Posted December 30, 2014 Went back to Citycars today. My driver was lovely. He carried my bags and held my hand all the way to my door.  Top man.
 Share this content via...

kaylib1998 Â Â 10 #76 Posted January 25, 2015 I hardly ever use taxis but when i've needed to have always used City Taxis never had a problem with the service or the drivers. I phoned for one yesterday(1st time in years) was told be there within 5 mins just rung home up to say i'll be home soon just ordered a.......... oooohh hold on it's here. Now that's what i call service. He must have been just around the corner. I've even had to order one at 4am when my car wouldn't start to get to work i live out in the sticks and it turned up in less then 10mins. Still got to work on time despite me phoning them and saying i would be late.
 Share this content via...

SaferSheff   10 #79 Posted January 26, 2015 City Taxis latest app update is amazing.  You can actually track your taxi on a map to see how far it is from you in realtime.
 Share this content via...
Event Horizo   10 #80 Posted January 26, 2015 Fact of the matter is the taxi firms with the most cars are going to be the most reliable. They are the ones that can cope best with demand at peak times. Mercury and City have the most cars spread around the city sitting on computerised zones waiting for calls to come in. Smaller firms tend to specialise to certain areas and can be good for local pick up drops etc. Of course you'll get let down now and then but that's life. Tommo68 Â Â 10 #82 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Most Sheffield taxi firms are reasonably punctual when it comes to picking up in Sheffield, the same is not always true when picking up outside Sheffield. Â I have been asked to look for a reliable service that will be able to pick up in Sheffield in time to arrive in Leeds centre for 5:45 and pick up from there to return to sheffield 3 hours later. This same journey will probably be repeated at a later date. Â We have confirmed that expressing personal preference is allowed (and legal) under some circumstances and we have verified that it is alright under our circumstances. Â So; The driver should be female and both non-muslim and non-asian, and preferably have a good working ability to communicate (ie, speak and read) competently in English. Â Can anyone recommend a local company that can could fulfill all the requirements please? . .
