jad279 and southweller

So sad to hear about the death of Keith Lemm. I'm over from Spain for Xmas staying at my son's in Essex but will make every effort to be at Keith's funeral on Friday. Keith was instrumental in changing my life around as a troubled youth in the late 60's and I feel indebted to him for what I've achieved as a result. Hope to see you and a few others there on Friday.

Best wishes

Jack Bowler

What a turn out to see Keith off , shows what a liked and well respected man he was , and listening to the words of the people there both young and old shows what an influence he was thru the generations.

Good to see a couple of old faces and sorry that i got lost trying to find the Niagara center, must have missed the turn off and was swept away by the traffic.

Jim.

Hiya Peter R, This subject has been on here but very long ago,

so i thought i'd put this on this thread.

I'am sure there are lots of people will remember this and where they

lived and where they were at the time of the fire.

At Height of the blaze many as 15 fire engines from around Sheffield

spent 5/6 hours tackling the outbreak at Firth Brown' Carlisle St.

Story was there was contractors in to do work on the first day of

the shut down week, the Steelmen were on a 2 weeks holiday.

Can anyone remember where they were at the time of the fire.

PS, It was in the 2/3 Machine shop - July 1969.Next

time i see you Bri i'll tell you the story.I was stood on the hill watching it.But i know now what happened cant put it on here though.Merry xmas love.x

----------------------

Hello Sheila, I remember laid on settee watching the TV and i heard

these kids running down st shouting Fire at Firth Browns.

Because i was working there too i thought my job is going up in flames,

so i decided to go down and look.

First i stood outside the crown pub, WoW that smoke, i did manage to

get further down the road but you couldn't see up Carlisle St for

smoke. I live in Hunsley St then.

Anyway, i wish you the very best Sheila and good health, good luck

in 2017. Brian. :partyhat::partyhat::partyhat:
