Anyone know of coach trips to theme parks?

Recommended Posts

With it being the summer holidays, just wondering if anyone knows if anyone does daytrips to Alton towers, or legoland windsor from sheffield, or anything similiar. It'd be great to take our son somewhere, but am limited by not being able to drive. Thanks, can't seem to find anything online.

Sorry have to go out will look for you later.

I think coach trips are a lot less common these days because people drive, but am sure there will be soneone. If not then your alternative is the coach or train and catch the bus to wherever.

Just had a quik look and they do look a lot rarer so organising a trip yourself might be the better option.

Train to Derby and get there by 9.30am, then from Derby bus station at 10am take your pick to either Alton Towers or Drayton Mannor. Both are buses that appear to get you there by 11am. No idea what the cost is of these (may be worth a phonecall) and you can check train times/prices yourself - East Midlands trains run regularly to Derby, as it's a stop on the main Sheffield to London route. Ticket prices for the train vary depending how far in advance you book.

For bus info from Derby check http://www.nottsderby.co.uk/service-time-tables/

*edit* Appears that you can get your entrance tickets for Alton Towers direct from the bus driver at Derby, which would save you queuing up when you get there too.

Thanks for the help, made a right boo boo with the sainsburys exchange. I got £130 pound in vouchers, to pay for alton towers. A combination 3 * £30, and a 2 * 20. I believed that this would have been a good idea, until I realised you can only use one voucher per person. So I will have to pay for three people, an extra 19.80 * 2 for 2 adults. And 13.20 extra for the little un. This will leave me £40 in vouchers that I can not use. I may aswell have used the half price deal on the cornflakes. If your going to do the exchange only get the £40 voucher, as others are not worth getting as I have found out. So in all it will cost me around £53. Not bad, but the half price deal would have only cost £64. I have some spare vouchers left over, if anyone needs them, send me a message.

Well we ended up going to Drayton Manor, and had a really good day out. Got the 8,55 to derby, which was late, and got on the X63, from the bus station. Rained going on the coach, and rained coming back, but the park was full of sunshine all day. Thanks for all the help. Little one didn't want to come home, but was fine once we were back on the coach, and told him we'd take him to macdonalds.
