Antonio to Forest. Something isn't right here. Sinking ship

So for those who didn't know Forest are very close to signing Antonio from us the clubs have agreed a fee and he is off for what the star say is £1.5million. Ridiculous, what is going on at Hillsborough? I have played the everything is going to be ok card for long enough now.

 

- Months later this Takeover hasn't happened. Why hasn't it happened? What is going on with it?

- The squad simply isn't good enough as it is, we are about on par with a squad that struggled last year other than the odd addition. We need players thick and fast because a couple of injuries and we are up the creek without a paddle.

- Now we look to be allowing our best assets and best players leave the club when we don't have enough quality and need more.

 

What the hell is going on? Why is a club that is due significant investment be selling it's best players? If we have money coming in then we don't need to sell anyone surely. I would understand it if Gray had decided to let one of our fringe players go but a first team regular and an important player. There are a few on here who like to paper over the cracks and say everything will be ok. I don't care what the blades fans think. It's not their club it's ours. Something isn't right here what is it? I'm bloody worried.

All I can think now and I am not saying I am right but it looks like the takeover is not happening any time soon if ever. Gray wants more players and Mandaric isn't willing to fund more signings therefore we are selling one of our better players to raise some money to panic buy a few players before the season starts. I am not saying I am right but it don't look too good does it.

On his day Antonio was proberly one of our best players .but let's be honest his day was becoming less and less.apart from the reading game last season he did nothing.The Antonio on form would be a massive loss the Antonio of the last few months not so much.obviously if he does go the money needs spending on a replacement.

On his day Antonio was proberly one of our best players .but let's be honest his day was becoming less and less.apart from the reading game last season he did nothing.The Antonio on form would be a massive loss the Antonio of the last few months not so much.obviously if he does go the money needs spending on a replacement.

 

Gazza I don't want to fall out with you buddy for disagreeing but you are kidding yourself surely. In pre season antonio has been one of the stand outs in a very poor showing. He is one of our better players and he will be a huge loss for us. It isn't ok or normal for us to be selling our best players just before the season begins mate. How can you have such a laid back attitude about it?

Is his cotract up for renewal? If so, his agent may be playing games to get him a better deal, this is not actually a confirmed deal is it?

A fee has been agreed between ua and forest apparently and the player is in talks with the club. Looks like he's off if personal terms are ok.

He just hasn't impressed me at all apart from the reading game.MM won't be spending on players mammadov isn't allowed to spend yet so if this sale gets us two decent players in who can play more than a handful of games and score a few goals then I don't see the problem.

Beat me to that one Gazza, said more or less the other day. Harking back to your promo year, Antonio was head and shoulders above anyone in the squad, but when in the championship he never seemed to be able to consistently replicate that form, but didn't he have a recurring knee problem, which he hasn't had chance to fully recover.. I agree with Mega, would have him at the Lane any time...

Surprised to see this story and it certainly begs the question, is the takeover still happening?

We have been talking about this on the dedicated owls forums for the last couple of hours and I will be honest you won't find many owls who are not unnerved by this news. A good few saying the takeover must have fallen through. I have played the everything will be ok card for weeks to keep face and not give United fans owt to gloat about but this doesn't add up to me and no disrespect to anyone on here it's nothing personal but I don't really care if united fans see me panicking. I don't care about keeping face. I love my club with all my heart and I am worried for it now. The media reported that FC Baku had financial difficulties last week and before that we all know what happened with RC Lens according to the press so it doesn't give much optimism does it. I don't know what to believe.
