wmoham001 Â Â 10 #1 Posted August 4, 2014 Hi, Been given a (fairly) decent mountain bike but it needs a full service and possibly a little bit of work, puncture repair, perhaps a new tyre. Â Can anyone recommend someone for this job, preferably around central/north Sheffield? Â Don't want to take it to the like of Halfords if I can help it. Â ( I did do a search before posting but all the existing threads seem to be from 2011) Â Many thanks
 Share this content via...
BrummieJim   10 #2 Posted August 4, 2014 These guys have a good reputation http://bikerehab.co.uk/ I wouldn't personally go to Halfords or Evans, based on people's experiences.
 Share this content via...

BrummieJim   10 #4 Posted August 4, 2014 Ok, based on the fact that the person mentioned Halfords, it seems clear that they're not that up on bike maintenance, so asking someone to learn could be a bit dangerous if you do something wrong or miss something. There's also the initial cost of the tools and the space required.  If you want to learn, BIke Rehab and Edinburgh Cycle Co-op do courses.  Alternatively; http://sheffieldcycleboost.org/fix-it-sessions/
 Share this content via...

wmoham001 Â Â 10 #10 Posted August 4, 2014 Thanks all. I think I will check out russellsbicycleshed.co.uk and bikerehab.co.uk. Would probably prefer to deal with a small/enthusiastic outfit such as these. Â And as someone pointed out, DIY is a no-no, can barely use a spanner never mind service a bike!! :-)
 Share this content via...
