And delight of delights, someone has set it on fire again this afternoon. The fire service are currently in attendance, but the flames were clearly visible down in Upperthorpe.

I was talking with the old lease holder and it is now back in the hands of the Council, I've seen plans for the Neepsend and Rutland Road area but not this part , be interesting to see what they are going to do with it.

I think it would be more newsworthy for people to let us know when the ski village is NOT on fire.......

People should just post when it's NOT on fire - would be much more newsworthy.

On a serious note - what a shame we lost something so good - the tragedy is it never even reached its full potential when it was open - could have been fantastic up there.

There is a growing alternative sport scene in this country. The site could have been expanded for more slopes; hotels and all sorts of other businesses could have sprung up around it to feed of it and support it and regenerate the entire area, but alas it wasn't to be. The only growth industry in Sheffield is the university it seems.
