Sheffield Ski Village On Fire Again Thread

Recommended Posts

What a waste of a great facility.

Great video though.

Its location didn't help it. I know it needs a big hill and there was one there of course, but the majority of people that are into ski'ing and snowboarding are middle class types, and most of them won't have fancied going to what they'll perceive as a dingey place to go do it.

The snow dome as Castleford killed it, who's going to bother skiing on a fake slope when there is real snow to play with just down the road??

5 ambulances went down towards NGH about 10 minutes ago and I can hear more sirens now though I don't know if it's anything to do with the Ski village

Looks like it is there as I can see through window blue lights and what looks like fire

"The Fires of Sheffield Ski Village" seems a good title for a new serial.

They never seem to be extinguished; every night's Burns Night there.

What is left to burn ?

Or do the arsonists just turn up with their own bag of stuff to burn ?

It is a shame that Sheffield no longer has a ski village but that hill looks a lot nicer from the Walkley/Upperthorpe area now it is naturalising and doesn't have a white streak running down it.

And lots of lovely ash to fertilise it ;)
