Sheffield Ski Village On Fire Again Thread

Recommended Posts

why don't the owners just pull it down. or made to pull it down, every time it's fired 2 fire crews have o go and see to it that takes them away from other jobs that might come in. and it must cost a couple of grand to send 2 crews out o see to it. the fire service should charge the owners of the site, merry Christmas

I think they applied for planning permission to clear the site and doing something (forgot what) with the site but the planning permission was refused

So can we now work out what is actually left to burn now?

It's a gypsy camp there (and has been for several years). They just have regular bonfires to keep warm and dispose of their rubbish

And it's well alight again. Fire service on the way. Just passed it on Infirmary Road

Looks really serious this time - massive flames all the way up the hill. Impressive views from Walkley, if that's an appropriate word for such devastation.

Surprised that there's anything left to burn up there.

Looked like a lot of bushes to me as I went past on the 57
