Recommended Posts

My backbox basically fell off so I just bought a new back box long story short my back box pipe won't come off its got this rubbery substance on it any tips on how to het it off or how much the garrage will charge to just take it off I can fit it myself (or is it one of those things where a garage cannot let you take it unless it has a back box)

Probably just some exhaust gum, it should come off with a Stanley blade and some swearing.

Give the pipe a pull at the same time as twisting it backwards and forwards.

If that fails, try heating it up in that area with a blow torch if you have one.

Get an angle grinder on in and cut it as much as you can.

It's usually thin enough to tear and peel off with mole grips.

If not keep twisting it will come.

Angle grind it off but be careful!!! Cut a slit down it then pare it apart with a chisel or sonething. That said you may well find the end of the centre section is rusty as well.
