Traffic cameras in Broomhill

Recommended Posts

There are signs in Broomhill warning that traffic enforcement cameras are now in operation in Broomhill.

Does anyone know just what they are enforcing and where? Is if for red light jumping violations, or something else? (I didn't think red light jumping was much of a problem in Broomhill, but can't imagine what else it might be).

It's the no-waiting, no loading restrictions on Manchester Road, which are being enforced by the camera enforcement vehicle. It's part of the work around improving bus routes.

Ah, not fixed cameras then. OK, thanks for that.

One car/van parked on Fulwood Road in Broomhill can cause delays right back to Brook Hill during rush hour as can the queue blocking Whitham Road at Weston Park hospital.

Red light jumping is a problem in Broomhill particularly at Crookes junction and Manchester Road/Fulwood Road.

So to stop cars and vans parking on manchester road, they are going to park a camera van there to catch people at it?!?!

I assumed that Planner 1 meant the sort of van that drives around, taking pictures.

Although I think I read that the government (Pickles?) was intending to ban their use - although I may be mixing it up with some other initiative where the Government want to show themselves to be on the side of the motorist

Is there somewhere the camera van can park along that road which won't cause as much trouble tho??

Would be ironic that the council van parks up to keep others out, but causes the same traffic problems anyway. :hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:
