Allen   38 #4 Posted July 24, 2014 It's not a good idea to leave the awning up in my opinion. I've lost count of the number of awnings I've seen damaged after strong winds....and the damage to the vans caused by awning poles buffering against the caravans. I know people do leave them up but do wonder if they regret it after the event.  It's also worth considering security. Anyone can casually enter the awning without causing concern from other campers. Once inside they are hidden from view and have plenty of time to "break and enter" unnoticed.  My main concern if I was considering a seasonal pitch (which I'm not) would be security.
