N360 backup norton

not a norton user and never have been .

 

but came across this the other day . someone asked me if I could look at their laptop as it was running realy slow and saying it had no hdd space .

 

after hunting throu many files and folders could not find anything that was use so much hard drive space .

 

then notice in c:\ windows a folder called N360 BACKUP size of 88.8 gb turns out norton was backing up the pc once a month for a couple of years .

 

deleted norton and the folder and the laptop was back to normal speed with 90 gb of free space ..

 

I know you tech guys will already maybe know this but just post as it may help out the not so tech users out there .

I used to do volunteer work teaching people how to use their computers, and a lot of my time was spent cleaning up files on laptops, uninstalling pointless spam programs they'd mistakenly installed, and also getting shut of McAfee and Norton and replacing them with AVG or Avast and having them come back next week saying how fast it felt now

yeah I also installed avast ..

 

never liked norton think I installed it once years ago and hated it ..it makes changes with out asking and would block many things I did online such as game servers ect .

 

I also love when people have a slow pc so they search google and come up with list of free download programs that say they will speed up your computer...yeah right

spy ware load you computer more like .
