School holidays, things to do

Recommended Posts

Hi was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for things to do and go in the 6 weeks holidays. Got a daughter at 6 and a son at 2. Also is there any fairs or anything in local parks?

Thanks for a reply

Talk to them.

Go on walks around the city and it's surroundings.

Play in the park with them / feed the ducks etc.

Get them joined up at the local lending library and choose books with them. The library should have a programme of events taking place with children in mind.

Do lots of free stuff and spend 6 lovely weeks together. It will be all too soon that you're sending them back to school.

Have a look here for events going on: http://www.welcometosheffield.co.uk/visit/events

Take a bus into the countryside: http://www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=17179871850

Take a Tram ride: http://www.supertram.com/exploresheffield.html (although be aware the Hillsborough line is closed for upgrade work, Meadowhall and Halfway lines still running though).

Will have a search around for vouchers for you later on but in the meantime don't forget the free things around Sheffield. Heeley City Farm, Graves Park Farm, Rivelin river walk and outdoor pool, Millhouses Park, Endcliffe Park, Padley Gorge. Loads of top free days out around Sheffield that would only cost you your dinner!
