Terry towel false limb inserts.

A pal of mine has just phoned me to ask if I knew how to keep the limb covers, he puts on the amputated part of his leg, soft, after washing.Apparently they are made of terry towelling. He dries them on the line either inside the house or outside if the weather is O.K. I suggested drying them in the drier, which he has not got,so I will dry them for him in our drier the next time to see if they are any softer.Unless anyone has a better idea.

I had some towels that went hard. I washed them with very little detergent and put white vinegar in the fabric conditioning compartment then tumble dried them. They were much better.

Yes, tumble drying is the only answer I've found with them (towelling inserts, but in my case they aren't for false limbs). I'm sure that someone near him with a tumble dryer would have no problem laundering them for him, if they knew that there was a reason why it needed to happen.

Maybe you could link him with a willing neighbour who has a tumble dryer? What are of the city is he in?

Thank you very much for your kind offers but he only lives a few doors away from me and the next time he wants them washing we will do them for him,he is 90 and I visit him nearly every day for a chat. Will let you know the outcome.
