Birds-essential to have water supply in this warm weather.

I recall seeing threads on here over the years reminding people to ensure there is a supply of drinking water for birds in the winter due to freezing conditions. I’ve personally never seen birds drinking water in in my garden in the winter, and assumed it was because there was so much water & snow around at that time of year.

I keep a dog bowl of fresh drinking water out for the birds all year round. In the summer, I see birds drinking from it every day. Mainly the large birds-crows & Maggie’s, but black birds too. I’ve never seen the species that use hanging feeders drinking from the bowl, but I assume they won’t as they are not ground feeders. Robins use the feeders and feed off the ground also, but I’ve never seen them drinking from the bowl.

Water is essential for almost everything in hot weather.
