johnsbucket 10 #1 Posted July 7, 2014 Cycle race they say somewhat extravaganza, Being part of the Tour De France bonanza, It passed through us city on Sunday Afternoon, They say millions cheering along the route, We are on hill that Jenkins road, Only a stone’s throw from where we abode, The noise building to a huge crescendo, We saw them arrive we saw them go, Toughest climb they will meet on the tour, Went by us at about quarter past four, Waving flags, the carnival atmosphere, This momentous occasion had passed through here, Amazing day left me full of pride, Like all Yorkshire men county wide, We did us bit we embraced the tour, Its memory etched for evermore.
