The new private religion, total self interest

Well judging by the prejudice on this site one will assume the bigots will think this about Islam, ...well it ain't!!!!!!!!

This new religion got seriously underway just over 30 years ago, and it was designed and continues to work on the same principle.

To change a people from a community, or communities where people generally are concerned about each other, thus uniting many in common causes to increase the quality of life in general, requires a great deal of planning.

In tribal groups in the Amazon for instance to gain access to mineral recourses and drive such backward people from their ancestral lands the most effective way to create discourse was found to be through giving, being charitable. Thus one pretends to be doing good, and this destroys family and tribal bonds very effectively. Anthropologists and of course evangelists would give metal cooking goods, knives and other practical upgrades to such people, as well as other goods like clothing etc. But not everyone got a piece or pieces of the pie, as there was never enough to go round, so some benefited from it while others due to shortages didn't. This sowed the desired seeds of discontent, as those with the gods would not share or could not share, as cooking pots were designed to hold a specific amount of food, thus could only be used to feed a few, while others used traditional methods, and the same with knives, as opposed to stone tools. One axe amongst 10 men makes 9 excluded. These tribes had never before had personal possessions, and the incomers managed to create fractures, create greed, create envy and many other feelings of discontent.

Over time these fractures caused families to leave the tribe and set up a home elsewhere, reducing the numbers significantly, destroying social cohesion over time. This process took a year or so, as individuals benefited while others didn't.

Thus the people within the tribe spent a great deal of time fighting and arguing with each other about sharing and possessing things that were not shared. We would praise such behaviors as individuals expressing themselves, not a group. The tribe disintegrated as fights and such flourished and with a core population left, the timber, and other recourses were swindled, through reallocation of the remainder who were given abject poverty in return for their cooperation. Fortunately being reallocated, allowed other influences to interfere with the group, disease, and a high percentage of them died through no immunity to what we call common infections, flu, colds etc. They are no longer a proud, self sustaining group, reliant on state administered handouts which are precarious at best.

Thus such research projects in South America, Africa, and Asia set the stage for what is not happening across Europe and in the UK. One might have thought that education would allow such populations to see the blatant manipulation, the blatant withdrawal of resources, the destruction of social institutions, and commonly owned infrastructure. But no, they were as ignorant as the tribal groups, where self interest trump all other values, and the disease of selfishness, and discrimination spread like wildfire. No the only thing left to do is to completely impoverish such populations over a generation or so, while all the time telling them things are getting better. The educated populations believe, they swallow the lies whole despite the personal evidence of "tightening their belts", and act predictably like lambs to the slaughter, without doing anything at all, under the belief it is happening only to others.

Thus the religion of worshiping money, the power of greed shackles individuals preventing them from any tribal, or group activities that might change the construct they actually live through. I will never happen to me, our family but others less fortunate…innit!

It's Gordon geckism... The "Greed is good" philosophy. It's also known as the "I'm alright jack, pull-up the ladder" syndrome.

So is erebus unhappy because all people care about nowadays is money, improving their own lot, every man for himself, stuff the community and once I'm ok sod the rest?

I cant quite make out whether she means that the religion of money only started 30 years ago (1984) or it's something else.
Judging by some previous posts I've read, most definitely not a "she".

Go on then, I'll play with a rant to boot.

That's not a new religion. Just look at the Vatican. But yeh, get what you mean. The system sucks. To do anything these days costs money. Want to travel, do charity, take a dump - or even have a spare bedroom - it all costs money. Then there are advertisements everywhere enticing you to buy junk that you just don't need; everything from deodorants to some silly fitness DVD. Wanna make your own deodorants - that's gonna cost time and money. Can't keep fit using you own initiative: you need this DVD or some silly gadget so you know you are doing it right. And people buy it.... sigh. Wanna play tennis in the street - can't do that. No ball games allowed. Got to play in the proper place where it costs money. Wanna take part in a community event? Tickets please. Want some fresh air? I'll sell ya a bottle for a quid (it's for charity). Everything is being monetised, innit.

It's like being part of an horrendous machine that you just can't escape from - and if you did, that'll cost ya money!
