Vet in Sheffield who deals with birds

Hi

 

We have an African grey - around 26 years old. He's never been to a vet (he's just moved in with us) and we want him looking at. The thing is he's quite nasty and I know most vets don't specialise in birds - does anybody know of one? We live in s6. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure Ian at spire vets in chesterfield will see birds as I enquired about mine. I dread the day mine ever ends a vet as he's a biter :-/ fortunately I've had him for 10 years n he's always been pretty healthy. Good luck

William at Springfield vets in Rotherham is a bird specialist. We take out love birds, crimson rosellas and umbrella cockatoo to him, and he has literally saved their lives more than once!!

William has been truly fantastic with our birds! Our umbrella cockatoo became egg bound a few years ago, the egg was incredibly large and there was just no way she could have survived it if it wasn't for William, but the best thing was he didn't just take the easy option of cutting her to remove the egg, he took time and patience and removed it with a speculum so that she had much less to recover from, and basically did everything with the best for Mango in his mind.

 

I'd never hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Good luck!! :-)

Thanks - he saved someone else's bird who I've spoken to. We really need to get our little man's beak and nails sorted - we've tried all the usual things but he just needs some TLC and he's really nasty - so has to be a birdy vet!
