I felt absolute despair for the future of this country watching that program last night. Before i get shot down by some on here, I feel compassion for people out of work, trying to make ends meet and prioritising their lives.

Looking at the ones I saw on the program, the old chap, I did genuinely feel for him as looking for work at his age must be extremely difficult but surely he could clean himself up a bit and cut down on the cigs which seemed to fill his ash tray.

The single guy also appeared to be trying but as I said to my better half, I could not possibly justify going away to Cuba when the children were only going to Skeg Vegas I think it was,no matter who was paying for the trip.

As for the two girls, well there is a whole chapter there isn't there! Letting the dog do it's business in a public place so someone else's child can tread, or worse, fall in it is disgusting. If she is not prepared to clean up after her dog she should not be allowed to own one. That being said when, food on the table is an issue, who was she feeding, the dog or the little boy? I take my hat off to the little boy though and hope he has a better future than he is being shown. Bless him, he stopped and put the units plastic bottle in the bin when she clearly could not be bothered. I presume someone else has taught him that sociable behaviour as oppose to her anti social behaviour.

As for the dog running around the park and knocking someone else over, what on earth was the girl thinking having a go at a passer by who quite rightly told her to put the dog on a leash. Really, can anyone be that disconnected from reality to think that was ok.

Mister M said earlier

"The dog looked like it was in a small park, lots of dogs like to run around, it's what they do!".....Jeeeze what a deluded lunatic, he really is the court Jester now isn't he . That could have been your child the dog knocked over. Surely you would have a different view then but if not please please tell me you would be happy if it was your child or granchild knocked over by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, go on tell me again that it's ok, i dare you!

Then there was the abuse that the passer by got, why on earth did the girl think that was the right thing to do. If she had said sorry and put the dog on the lead then no one would bat an eye lid. Unfortunately this attitude of I can do what I want with no regard for anyone else is all to prevalent in todays society and I certainly wouldn't employ either of the two girls. I really feel for the children, they get no guidance to improve their own lifes and that should be one of a parents priorities, clearly not happening in this situation at the very basic level. I fear they will just end up being another source of anti social behavior for our already overworked police men and woman. On a lighter note, maybe the police will be busy when someone's dog is bothering Mister M!

Have you ever seen a children DLA form? or have any knowledge on just how much professional evidence that is required to submit a claim? or seen the amount of people they will contact to back up the evidence?. It is the least fiddled benefit there is, so what youre saying is a load of bull! and you should be having a word with your friend! she needs to tell her daughter to act more professionally! before she finds herself claiming benefits! The authorities check and double check EVERYTHING on every disability claim be it DLA or PIP.

No it isn't bull. My wife is a teacher and they have parents practically begging them to fill in forms reporting their kids have ADHD or some other condition so they can claim more money for them.

She was at least up front that the loss of benefits was actually her own fault.

She didn't feature too much really, and didn't try and lay her problems on everyone else like the old fella and those horrid girls.

Her house was a right old tip tho, but as said before it could be a symptom of depression.

I've now watched most of the programme. Its a shame the 60 year old man didn't get involved in some sort of voluntary work when he first became unemployed. Volunteers spend time with others and they are usually doing something useful. It can really help with self esteem and even with future job prospects. It also means not having to spend all day in an unheated flat, and they may even be fed depending on the role.

I think you'll find the form your wife is referring to is a conners form (or something along those lines, i dont have a child with ADHD but i am heavily involved with a childrens charity support families of disabled children) this is what Ryegate request schools fill in, it so they can obtain information from someone other than the parents, should the results of this indicate a possibility of ADHD Ryegate send a specialist nurse into observe, this is just the start of the process for diagnosis other options are also considered prior to diagnosis, parenting skills, home environment ect.

Should a diagnosis be given and the parents decided to claim DLA then parents may ask a teacher to add information to the DLA claim (usually the SENCO) but after all the above has been been undertaken why any professional would question or judge parents for doing so seems again unprofessional! DLA would NOT be awarded just on the evidence from parents and teacher, its medical reports from a paediatric consultant (usually a neurologist).

I'm surprised that there aren't more comments about them losing the child. The way the filming was edited the women were outside the side entrance of Debenhams near to childrenswear. That is a long way from the playground near the Oasis

Unbelievable that someone can put finding a dog over caring for a child - and then she only started running once she realised that the father would be after her

The bloke you mention has the life of 'Riley' - getting his parents to forfeit their holiday so he can go to Cuba. It said in the program that he had got engaged - bet his parents paid for the engagement ring as well !

As for the two gobby females......they were both foul mouthed as well, the fat one told the tattooist she would work if she could get a job that paid £5000 a week .....she must live in a world of fantasy, where are those sort of jobs to be had, especially for people like her who have never worked and have no work experience ?
