Mansfield road traffic

Hello everyone. If you use Mansfield road in the morning or evening you cant help notice how bad the traffic has got sinse the road 'improvements'. To make matters worse they have switched the bus lane to the left but yet the busses dont use it, they fill up the right hand lane leaving the left lane clear and the right lane gridlocked.

Ive spoken to the bus companies but they just reply with a standard no meaning letter that answers nothing. Ive also written to the council and am still waiting on a reply. This is just a bit of a whinge as living around hewre is starting to get me down a bit. Mainly because of the problems the other day and the traffic. I just dont get how the roads can be screwed up so badly and yet no ones seems to want to make it better.

Ive been waiting for a reply from the council for 7 weeks.

I dont think they are even going to reply and in the mean time we have to suffer the noise, the smell and the god awful music that comes banging out of a chavved up shopping trolly whilst its sat outside my home unable to move thanks to the councils amazing work.

On the occasions I've used it recently I've been impressed how much better things have been since they changed it to a much more logical lay out

It's taken me just a few minutes from the Embassy to Manor Top.

My only suggestion would be that they need to rethink the junction with Richmond Road as currently the traffic heading up from the Embassy is needlessly held up by right-turners unless you enter the bus lane to get around them.

100% agreed.

As i type traffic is streched back as far as Intake primary school and before the road works i never saw it that bad. It terrible!

I totally agree with the comment about Richmond road. Its maddening how pointless those lights are. Also, regarding lights, the ones at the top of Mansffield road have been changed. They stay red fro longer than they did and green for less time.

Why???

I just dont get it.

If its not the Embassy its the road layout, if I was you I'd move away from the area as its sending you mad!!

Im making plans to move. The kids arent happy here now. When we moved here it was better, much better. Not by any means perfect but where is??

The pub wasnt an issue, everyone seemed to behave then BANG!!!!! Out of no where trouble after trouble after trouble.

The roads were always a little busy at rush hour, now its manic!

I don't think the issue is that the traffic is worse, all that's happened is the problem has been pushed further back down Mansfield Road so the buses get delayed there rather than up where the layout has been changed. I tend to find on Wednesday's the traffic is backed down further than any other day though.

I also agree the junction with Woodhouse Road needs changing to make provision for right turners as some people that come up Mansfield Road just sit and wait for them to turn. Just go around them in the bus lane, I have been doing that since the cameras went live and haven't received any fines.

Since they have altered the bus lane, I think its actually better for traffic coming up Woodhouse Road and turning onto Mansfied Road, particularly if I want to go then down City Road, so use then right hand lane. I don't have to then switch in and out of the bus lane.

however, if I was coming up Mansfield Road during bus-lane times, and the wanting to turn left onto the dual carriageway or straight ahead towards East Bank Road, its a nightmare!

Ive just come up mansfield road and there appears to be new black cameras pointing at the bus lane.

Has anyone heard anything about them being used to catch people?
