scousemouse Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 ..............removal of a wasps nest? If they do, I will have to sort it, but with what? I have been stung twice this week ouch!
GerryBooth Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 You can get wasp nest killing powder from hardware stores. Puff it into the entrance of the nest and usually 12 hours later they are dead. Cover yourself up well though and do it late evening early morning.
Guest sibon Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 If you can see the nest opening, you can probably deal with it yourself with wasp killing foam. Do you really need to destroy them though? They do a lot of good.
scousemouse Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 The nest is in the shed, the place where I keep the garden stuff. Having been stung twice this week, I can't wait to get rid of the little beggars! Thanks for the replies though.

Spray foam over the opening to the nest and clear off sharpish. As the wasps go into the nest, they take the foam in and it kills them. The wasps will get slightly upset when you spray:D
magwitch Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 ^^^ As above, especially if you can see entry/exit hole for the nest but best to wait until early or late day so to avoid getting stung or contact alcoblog http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=779391&highlight=wasps
drolnhoj Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I got some powder from b&q today for £2.98 and foam was about a fiver. Put the powder in the hole where the wasps were entering this morning. Just have to see what happens. If it works it's cheaper than the man we paid last time. Think that cost about £100.
tzijlstra Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I am utterly confused as to why the council would remove wasp nests for free or even at all?
