Feeling let down by agencies but in need of perm work. . . . HELP!

Hello,

I need some help and quick!

I am currently temping but I am wanting to get into something perm. The problem is I keep getting messed around by agencies!

Some want me to sign up with them (meaning taking time off work) before they will even consider putting me forward for a role, but once I have signed up I never hear from them again, even when I call them they are always 'too busy' to talk! There has been a rare agency I have managed to get to interview through (including an internal vancancy) but then again never hear anything after that, even when I ring for feed back (guessing I haven't got the job) they yet again 'too busy' to talk.

Its getting really frustrating and I have no idea how to deal with these circumstances. I don't want to be calling them all the time for information, but then again I need a perm job and it seems less common nowadays for companies to adverties vancancies direct! My current temp position ends at the end of July and ideally I would like something in place for then.

Any advise or points of view would be great!

The Agency is good - they got me my current position. They may want a meeting but they are based in the town centre and never actually wanted me to go down to them.

To be honest they are one of the many I have recently been in contact with. They do contact me for Temp work (1week-1months worth of work) but for the Perm side I have heard nothing back about the position I was originally wanting to go for, then when I called them they said there was another position that was better and then never heard anything, I gave up after my 4th call.
