Digging up Manor Lane already!!

Recommended Posts

Can't believe contractors are digging up Manor Lane so soon after it's been resurfaced. Why can't the Council coordinate these things better? :loopy:

Does anyone know exactly how long ago it was resurfaced?

What's the quality of work like that these contractors have done? Have they repaired the road back to its previous brand new status or just done a typically poor patch up as usual?

Looking at the picture within the link you posted ad also taking into account what has been said "Half the road will be resurfaced" Which should be from the kerbside to the main joint where the middle joins, IIRC I would presume that there would be a section 58 ruling on this which should prevent the "Patching process" that normally follows.

At some point when the excavation is completed and needs re-surfacing I would expect half of the road to be planed off ans re-surfaced unless the council have agreed on other alternative methods which could include to re-instate the excavation only and then apply a further coating to the whole road so it looks "as was" before the works started.

The road would of been dug up for the same period of time whichever way the work was carried out and until the electricity company have finished no-one can say whether their work is going to be left in a satisfactory order
