Contract writing

Hi I was wondering if any knows what involved in writing up a contract between two people for work being done. Would someone official need to sign it?

Just the parties concerned assuming they are of capacity. That means not under age, under power of attorney etc.

Ofc the reason you sometimes need someone else to do the contract is because that can be the complicated part.
