Guest   #2 Posted June 11, 2014 If all of them retired at the same time would anyone notice?  Only joking.
 Share this content via...

kidley   48 #4 Posted June 11, 2014 If you retire at 55 rather than 65 wont you lose 10 years of yours and the SCC subscription to it, which is 10 years of the highest subscription so yes i would say you would lose a big chunk of it? Fogey   10 #5 Posted June 11, 2014 I have heard of councils agreeing to 'make up' to full pension to convince staff to go when the council is looking for cuts, IF it's cheaper than the remaining full pay employment and IF it's cheaper than the redundancy. Mbg63 Â Â 10 #6 Posted June 11, 2014 Thought it could be decided by the amount of years you've paid In and as they're asking for voluntary retirements just wondered if there was a incentive
 Share this content via...

Mbg63 Â Â 10 #8 Posted June 11, 2014 Yes the council is asking employees in certain worksites to consider voluntary redundancy or early retirement due to cutbacks. It doesn't effect me but I know people that it will.
 Share this content via...
Grit Man   10 #9 Posted June 11, 2014 Thought it could be decided by the amount of years you've paid In and as they're asking for voluntary retirements just wondered if there was a incentive  if they offer a package, for instance, 10 added years,it,s worth looking at,its a few years now since the council offered those packages tho. Mbg63 Â Â 10 #10 Posted June 11, 2014 Yes don't know if there is an incentive to take it I suppose only someone who has taken it recently will know that. Shame state pension age has gone up it should have come down to give jobs to the younger generation with the option of carrying on if you feel fit and we'll enough to. Retiring at 55 is very expensive for the employer if the person has long service and rarely cost effective for the Council
 Share this content via...
