Logs for sale in Sheffield

Recommended Posts

They cut up the felled trees on Snakepass and leave them on the side of the road for people to help themselves. Got some beauties last winter.

be careful & choose carefully, certain logs burn too quickly, others spark.

wherever you get them from buy kiln dried logs ,slightly more expensive to buy but they last longer and you will use fewer.

After getting my fingers burnt (sorry!) buying rubbish supposedly "seasoned" logs locally , for the last couple of years I have been buying kiln dried ones either from http://www.woofwoodfuel.co.uk or direct from their supplier , http://www.certainlywood.co.uk - they both have periodic special offers so I choose whichever is best.

They are more expensive than local bulk bags - but they burn really well and light with no problems.

The little flamer firelighters are also great (you only need one - much better than newspaper) .

And I buy the kiln dried kindling too.

I just noticed litton logs have also started selling kiln dried - http://www.littonlogs.co.uk/kiln-dried.
