Wedding Venue Discussion 2015/2016

Recommended Posts

Cubley hall penistone is stunning, played many a wedding gig there but they tend to get booked up months in advance-ps you dont have to have the resident dj book your own and save hundreds

It is very nice. Played there Monday. There's quite a few nice venues round here!

i am getting married at hotel van dyk in clowne near worksop. we chose this venue as we wanted to be in 1 place for the whole day, we also wanted hotel rooms on site for our guests.

the hotel is stunning and has nice grounds outside

We've covered weddings at Tankersley and have 4 more booked within the next 12 months.

Our experiences with staff and the venue as a whole were positive. The staff were helpful and very flexible to your requests. Comparatively other venues can be a little strict on what you can and cannot do with regard to confetti and the sort however Tankersley were very good.

My only point to highlight would be to find out whether there is another wedding on the same day. They hold a maximum of two a day and to manage this they essentially split the complex in two. One bride has exclusive use of the front of the building and the other exclusively the back. If you're in the back and want a picture of the front of the building they will say that you can't. (We still did sneakily though).

DaisyBoo, you'll be in good hands there. Jade the wedding coordinator is fantastic and is actually a bridetobe herself, I know as we're shooting their wedding this August.

Becks has really covered the majority. All of those venues are lovely however Renishaw have stopped doing weddings now.

Also consider:

The Maynard in Grindleford http://www.themaynard.co.uk/

The stables in High Melton www.thestables-doncaster.co.uk/

Kenwood Hall http://www.kenwoodhallsheffield.com/index.htm

Tapton Hall http://www.taptonhall.com/

Leopold hotel www.leopoldhotel.co.uk/

Halifax Hall http://www.halifaxhall.co.uk/partnerships-weddings/

Cutlers Hall http://www.cutlershall.co.uk/events/weddings

The Rutland Hotel http://www.rutlandhotel-sheffield.com/Weddings/

All really nice venues, we've shot at some so can give you some personal insight if you'd like to DM us otherwise the websites should give you a good idea.

Hi,

Does anyone know any good value for money wedding packages? We have a budget of about £4k (80 day guests and 120 night.) Any ideas?

Cheers

Rich

We already have a wedding venue thread, but I know things change over time and there have been a few threads recently about wedding venues. So the threads have been combined.

One of the loveliest venues I've photographed recently is Losehill House Hotel in the Peak District, and I believe it would come in at quite a bit under the prices you are mentioning above. I would also recommend Wortley Hall Hotel, Whitley Hall Hotel, and The George Hotel in Hathersage as all have impressed me with the setting and customer service. On a real budget, the meeting rooms at Sheffield Town Hall are lovely but the food can be a bit hit and miss; and Weston Park if the weather can be guaranteed.
