dvp82 Â Â 10 #37 Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) You will be able to cross the road along the route as a pedestrian. Â The only parts where people will be unlikely to be able to cross will be any section of the route which has barriers erected, which for the sheffield stage will be the final few KM's at the finish and possibly the top of Jenkin Road and Jawbone Hill. francypants   441 #40 Posted June 11, 2014 There's one near the entrance to Ecclesall woods too, looks quite impressive. Sad that when one of the worlds biggest sports events comes to our city, probably the only time in most peoples lifetime it will happen people look for reasons to be negative.     Probably because we're not in the least bit interested in the event and don't give a s**t about it. stanleeder   10 #45 Posted June 12, 2014 I cycled(*) the route in Sheffield yesterday and saw yellow bikes at these locations:  The Potters' Well, Midhopestones The Old Horns Inn, High Bradfield (one above the door and one on the beacon in the garden) The Blue Ball, Worrall Greenhead Fields, Oughtibridge  I've also seen yellow bikes on Pinstone Street, Fargate and at Ecclesall Woods. Are there any others in the city?  In Langsett the Waggon & Horses has been renamed the Pedalers Inn and the Bank View Cafe has been painted in the 'King of the Mountains' red spots for the occasion.  (*) actually I was driving on the nice new tarmac that's been laid over most of the route.  Some pictures here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4022981 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4015691 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4023001 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4022970
 Share this content via...

mattythefish   10 #48 Posted June 12, 2014 this yellow bike thing has got to be the worst way to market an prestigious sporting event, cheap and tacky comes to mind, but i am sure some marketing genius has thought it through and been paid a good wedge.................the emperors new clothes springs to mind!!!
