ricm   10 #1 Posted May 26, 2014 Hi,  Does anyone know of a venue where I can give an adult learner a couple of hours tuition a week? Somewhere fairly quiet? Alternatively anyone know where I can hire a desk for an hour or two a week?  I have an adult learner who wants to return to studying and needs a neutral, quiet space away from distractions at home. Thanks.
 Share this content via...
Bludragonfly   10 #2 Posted May 26, 2014 You could probably use your local library. I often see what appears to be a tutor and student at the library working their way through folders of course work
 Share this content via...

ricm   10 #4 Posted May 26, 2014 What locality? Look at Church Halls. Quite a wide area: Hillsborough and on into town or from town up towards Shirecliffe or from town up towards Crookes.  ---------- Post added 26-05-2014 at 09:28 ----------  You could probably use your local library. I often see what appears to be a tutor and student at the library working their way through folders of course work  I had wondered about that - not sure if they would object or not but I can always phone up and ask. The fact that you have seen this at the library is encouraging. Thanks.
 Share this content via...
medusa   16 #5 Posted May 26, 2014 Have you tried asking the university library whether you would be allowed to book one of their teaching rooms for a regular slot once a week? That would remove the possibility that you talking would be taken as a distraction for other people, and they have lots of rooms which are used by all sorts of classes. This may be more of a possibility if you are looking for an evening slot, since they are usually booked through the week.
 Share this content via...

I think Tuesday I have lots of potential venues to call. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Ric
 Share this content via...
