Ukip. All discussion here please.

He was found guilty in 1997. How long does it take for UKIP to understand he's a bad egg? The fact that UKIP welcomed him into their arms shows that they cannot take the high moral ground when it comes to sleaze.

He doesn't have any sort of office so he's not really a leading light... If he's done wrong then fair enough he's gone.

The other parties can't really use him as a comparison to some of their discretions. Many have done great wrong and then invited back to positions of power. Blunket and Mandelson spring to mind.

Not really a leading light??

Hamilton was brought in as Deputy Chairman. Hardly some insignificant post is it.

That's if you believe that deputy chairman of the party isn't any sort of office. I know it sounds unbelievable but Neil Hamilton was the deputy chairman of the UKIP until April this year!

And now Hamilton's been skewered again.

I think Hamilton was never proved to have done what was claimed. If I remember his guilt was that he backed out of suing Al-Fayed and therefore must have been guilty...

He's a minor figure in the party but if he's done wrong he'll be out. UKIP deal with these things in a much more honest open way.

When you are dead you do not know you're dead it's just difficult and painful for others. The same applies if you are stupid.

You really ought to heed your own advice.

I deliberately watched Question Time and was immediately struck by the make up of the panel, 3 women and 2 men. The two men being Farage and Brand.

IMO - The men were much the same shouting and making sound bite, stupid and glib one liners.

The women were much better quieter and more considered, even some of the audience made more sense than Brand and Farage. It just showed me that Farage and Brand are not serious politicians, unable to carry a discussion on anything but their 'pet' subjects. That's okay for Brand as he has a day job but Farage . . . oh dear.

The secretary of the Neil Hamilton Fan Club really has no right to call anyone a fool.

Brand was worse than Farage at that, Farage stayed on topic as a lot of the questions were about immigration. Brand (although I do quite like him), went off topic loads, including bringing bankers bonuses up when asked about overcrowding in the country.

Regarding the ladies on the panel, I thought they were awful, with the very credible exception of the journalist (Camila Cavendish?), who was outstanding. They were petty (the petty comment "talking of career politicians, Nigel Farage is a prime example", when asked about is pettiness ruining politics and the accusations of sexism just because Brand talked over a female - no comment when he talked over fellow males) and although the blonde carried herself fairly well (she was probably 3rd behind Camila and Farage), she has lost all credibility after her shambolic parliament display.

I agree with you about the audience. They are the people that should be listened to and they are the ones who hold the real power.

However, I don't think dear old Penny actually answered a question all night.

He brought up banker bonuses when Farage asked him where the money was going to come from.
