IF it is, it's a bit blatant, but I still think it is some brain-dead civil servant throwing his/her weight around.

When the PM delayed the local elections last year, it wasnt done untill March, so they could still be delayed, although less likely to delay another year.

No. This year's Local Elections (running late!) will be going ahead in May.

So will the Sheffield Referendum.

Thought I'd drag the Lib Dems out of the SF wilderness & back into the fold for a while & let folk know who they've chosen for Batley & Spen?

When the Lib Dem thread is way, way below the likes of the threads for 'Asda Petrol' & 'Replacement Knee Surgery', someone should let Sir Ed Davey know they're in real trouble with the electorate.

Ah, so they still exist?

They've apparently been hiding in Chesham and Amersham.

Overturned a 16000 Conservative majority in a seat that has always been Conservative since it was formed in 1974 and Labour only got 622 votes.

Saw the headline , astonishing enough but 622 votes for labour!

Of course the historic Labour victory in 97 was largely due to wholesale tactical voting between Libs and Labour.

Where you up for Portillo ?

My constituency had been Conservative apart from immediately post war but ended up Labour with a 9000 majority.

No. I don't follow election results closely enough the let it disturb my beauty sleep. If anything interesting happens it gets repeated ad nauseam the next day.
