The denial in some sections of the Labour Party still runs deep. This time a candidate for the deputy leadership.

"In 2017, we had a socialist leader, Jeremy. We came close to winning, it was an electoral advance. If only we’d won.”

That was "close" as in 55 seats behind the Tories.

Just seen this on the BBC about local elections in May:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51709639

Quote:

"In a worst-case scenario, Labour risks losing 315 seats and control of historic strongholds such as Sheffield."

So any new leader elected will now have only 4 weeks to lead the party before any elections take place.

Dragging out the Labour leadership election hasn't helped them one bit.

Every day the Tories are unchallenged, or Wrong Daily and Burgon are coming out with some rubbish, they do nothing to encourage people back to Labour.

Quite an amusing story.  Yorkshire Tea getting flak, abuse and threats of boycotts because the chancellor shared a pic of him with a massive bag of them.

For balance, Corbyn was pictured with them in 2017, but I don't recall any Tories threatening to boycott the brand.

Anybody who drinks Yorkshire Tea deserves all the scorn and derision they receive

Firstly.  Blimey, this Labour Party thread took some finding.  It's like we've forgotten about them entirely.

Easier to find the 'Dodo' thread. 😁

Anyway, I know he's admitted to wearing moisturiser but Keir Starmer is a hell of a long way from that 'We all want / the next Labour leader should be a Northern woman.

Depends how you define right.

He is the best of the bunch and probably the only one who could herald the return of sanity to the Labour party and eventually it's return to government.

Maybe it’s because they’ve not been in power for a decade?
