Both your replies confirm that this country is destined to continue in the same uncomfortable, unsure, sinking vein that it's been in since 1979.

Our country is in a mess, Europe is in a mess, and the USA is in a mess.

All three areas have been in right wing hands for the recent past, and all three areas get worse year by year.

 

The UK and the USA especially, quote everything in monetary terms (money, after all is all that matters to them) and, not satisfied with forgetting about the social side of things, they continually lie about how good their financial plans are working, and how good they are for the country, when in reality, the growth and wealth of both areas are grossly exaggerated to cement their positions as 'best for the country'.

 

Both countries are in unprecedented debt and continue to sink further, whilst painting an all so rosy picture.

 

There's no need for personal remarks (I don't call you, so don't  call me).

And yes, there were millions of stupid people. There still  is. Tory voters for starters.

I don't know which way either of you vote, I've not read the whole thread.

We are in debt no doubt.  Labour under Corbyn and McDonnells policies will shove us deeper and deeper into the mire. And I’ve not heard anything about everything being rosy from any politicians. You can’t just borrow yourself out of debt simply because the more you borrow the more you owe and the deeper and deeper you sink.

The current Labour Party is not acceptable to the establishment hence the unprecedented attacks on it particularly Corbyn. If Labour loses this election, suddenly all the character assassination and the antisemitism row will mysteriously vanish.

It’s not just the establishment who find the current Labour Party unacceptable but many of it’s traditional supporters.

Lets face it, he was a joke from day one when he was added to the leader candidate list.

 

If the Tories were suggesting people sign up to Labour for £3 to vote for Corbyn, surely THAT should have set alarm bells ringing?

That’s suggesting people can’t see through the hype. I’ve listened to others talking over many years about governments of all colours and it’s rare for them to say I’m going to vote for whoever because of what’s been said in the papers. They are living life and are not fooled easily by what the media say and take most of it with a pinch of salt.

Well, I beg to disagree, I talk to people who vehemently dislike Corbyn, and when asked why dont have a clue, but pressed they usually say something like he's racist against jews or is a traitor...people are easily fooled,we have had nine years of tory government, and they have all but destroyed the county, and the working class are going to vote for more of the same?

I don’t know if you were alive in the 70s but that era makes today look positively peachy.

Unfortunately in trying to please voters who are naturally politically right wing and socially conservative Labour is perpetually committed to being a poorer version of the Tories where nothing ever changes.

I’ve been a voter since the 60s and to be honest,looking back I find it hard to differentiate on a personal level whichever party was in power.

I know that I have been fortunate in that I have never been out of work,never spent a night in hospital,own my own house and finished work with a final salary pension scheme.

My Socialist leanings are based on the belief that the state would provide a safety net in the event that I or others had misfortunes regarding health,employment,housing etc.

I would always hope that this is the case ,but 10 years of Tory austerity has done untold damage to our services and particularly to those who most need some help.

A majority Tory government,particularly this right wing lot would be disastrous for many people.

I think a hung Parliament is the best that I can hope for at the moment,to at least curb the Tories excesses.
