I used to read The Guardy on Saturday when I voted Labour.   And you can't knock Aldi champagne at a tenner.

Labour losing it's appeal?

Yep, in the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Express, The Times, The Toff, the Betting Shops and the lunch time boozers.

I'm led to believe that the best horse racing coverage is in The Sun.

(The punters eyes must stray to the front page headlines at times)

If they believe they can make a profit betting on horses, they'll certainly believe the rhubarb that The Sun and it's 'sisters' print.

Yes, Corbyn isn't the flavour of the month because of false anti Semitism claims and maybe a couple of more rational criticisms of him. but we are not America.

We shouldn't vote for an individual (unfortunately, owing to Newspaper interference, most people do). It's wrong, but lots of people are 'brainwashed' and have been for decades.

I've said before, I think Corbyn's a wet Nelly (I'd prefer McDonald and Watson to take up the reins) and Diane Abbott makes even me think twice about voting Labour, but with all that in mind, I'd still rather have what may be a 'poor' Labour Government, than a poor Tory one.

I wonder which unfit, unprepared individual gets the East Coast Mainline to ruin next time?

That's ruin, not run..............................................

I'd be happy with Watson as leader.  Not McDonnell though, he's too much of a hothead.

I see his comments about Churchill have brought him fallout, including from his own party.

Anyone would think Churchill went down to the Welsh valleys himself and beat up some miners the way he goes on about it and the way McDonnell apologists defend him.

Here's some other of his "truths".  What a lovely man.  So much for Corbyn's "kinder, gentler politics"

ASSASSINATING THATCHER

When he was campaigning to be Labour leader in 2010, Mr McDonnell joked that he would like to have assassinated Margaret Thatcher.

He told a Trade Union conference in 2010 that the ‘single act’ he’d most like to do to ‘improve the world’ would be to ‘go back in time and assassinate Thatcher’.

PRAISING THE IRA

Mr McDonnell has faced repeated demands to apologise for praising Irish Republican terrorists.

He said: 'It's about time we started honouring those people involved in the armed struggle.

'It was the bombs and bullets and sacrifice made by the likes of Bobby Sands that brought Britain to the negotiating table.

'The peace we have now is due to the action of the IRA. Because of the bravery of the IRA and people like Bobby Sands, we now have a peace process.'

JOKING ABOUT LYNCHING FEMALE TORY MP

In November 2014, Mr McDonnell was recorded at a comedy night joking about the level of vitriol against Tory MP Esther McVey.

To applause, he said: ‘I was up in Liverpool a fortnight ago. Alec McFadden, one of our [union] organisers, launched the Sack Esther McVey Day on her birthday.

'I spoke at a packed public meeting... there was a whole group in the audience that completely kicked off quite critical of the whole concept, because they were arguing “Why sack her? Why aren’t we lynching the b******?”’

Those antisemitism claims, if not false are being handled terribly. I have Jewish, Labour voting relatives who are hugely concerned about it. I don't see them that often but when I did (and I don't do politics with them as a rule either) they brought it up.

Hand wave it off as a media conspiracy if you like and let's be honest given the small amount of Jewish peopleit's unlikely going to turn an election result, but I wouldn't dismiss it as fantasy.

wow, you're well in touch with the people labour claim to represent aren't you. I'd be interested to see what would happen to Labour support if this type of stuff was on leaflets. Are you sure you aren't a tory double agent?

I agree with you about John McDonnell being a hothead. He shouldn't have made that comment denigrating Churchill, who is regarded as a great leader of the time to so many.

Jacob Rees Mogg who I rarely agree with spoke about the subject on Question Time earlier, what he said about Churchill  was worthy of praise in my opinion.

He didn't make a comment, he answered a question honestly that was asked of him.

He is not a Conservative, he supports the working class not the ruling class. What was foremost in his mind was that Churchill was a Tory Home Secretary who sent troops into a mining town during the 1910-11 rather than as a Conservative War Leader. Nothing wrong with that.

Can you explain to me why in 2019 we should still be trying to protect our 'elders and betters', the aristocracy and the monarchy? Haven't we been bowing and scraping and tugging our forelocks long enough?
