I take your point but is it any worse than "well me husband votes labour so I do" or "I'll never vote Tory because of thatcher" or "that ed milibands a weird looking fella isn't he?" or "nick clegg is a plank" or pretty much most reasons people give themselves. There's barely a fag paper between all their economic policies apart from the odd pet project that don't effect most people anyway. Unless you've ploughed through all the manefestos or read a lot of political analysis you probably only remember certain bits. Besides, they can change their mind as soon as they get close to power anyway - see lib dems and their uni fees.

 

Clegg is a plank though.

Its all stacked against real democracy. This first past the post just means more of the same, and if they know its between two parties every time then they are always going to make promises and listen to the people when they want their justification, but as soon as they are in power they can and do what they wish.

 

How many times have they talked of a referendum on Europe ?

Every time they rig it so you think one is coming and then they put attachments on it that make sure you don't.

Wouldnt you agree that the diversity they bring to our country is good for us ?
