Akrasia   10 #13 Posted April 3, 2014 Teachers who are friends of mine say it's down to the way the inpsection is done and the rules they have to apply, if the same criteria used that was applied as the last ofsted inspection the grade would be the same or higher. It's the system used that is downgrading the schools, not the schools that are failing.  Except that Westways' latest SATs results show 64% of pupils achieving L4 in reading, writing and maths, compared to 74% the year before. Maybe there are good reasons for that, but in this case it isn't only the inspection criteria that have changed.
 Share this content via...
vikinruby   10 #14 Posted April 3, 2014 Oooooh and guess what? They all have academy status!! :hihi: The government should be ashamed of themselves. Opposition parties should be exposing this.  High Storrs retained their 'good' status at their recent Ofsted and don't have academy status! Â You are wrong, Limpsfield and Brightside don't have Academy status , Hinde House didn't at the time it went from satisfactory to good. Grenoside123 Â Â 10 #16 Posted April 4, 2014 The Ofsted reports are not worth the paper they're written on, like someone else has said, it's all political. You know yourself from your own child's progress/happiness whether the school is good or not. I would pay very little attention, if any, to a school's Ofsted report nowadays. alchresearch   206 #17 Posted April 4, 2014 Its nothing to worry about, its happened to many schools. And sometimes its a good thing not to rest on your laurels of "outstanding" status.
 Share this content via...
Camrat78 Â Â 10 #18 Posted April 4, 2014 The framework that Ofsted inspect to has recently changed and got a lot tougher. I am a governor at a school that under the previous inspection framework was classed as outstanding, we have recently been inspected and classed as good, and would have been classed as outstanding again under the old regime. As with anything in education, the goal posts keep moving. Its not surprising that no one wants to be a head teacher any more.
