the discontinuance of the red optio tickets seems to have annoyed lots of people, and the bus companies don't seem to be honouring their fliers that say the weekly passes can be used on the other companies buses

Dont get me started on buses being late.

I catch 97 or 98 first bus from southey library every night to town when i go to work.

I go for the 19:44 98, i use to go for the 19:59 97 but was fed up of it turning up nearly 10 mins late.

But guess what, the 19:44 98 never turns up ontime either. And its every night.

Last night i was waiting for the 19:44 98 and it never turned up, neither did the 19:59 97. Ended up getting the 20:14 98 which turned up at 20:19.

First are an absoloute joke. I hope one day the company goes bust.

Oh yes and I bet if you asked him he would have no idea why the bus was late. It seems worst bus dont understand the meaning of the words punctual and customer service (possibly too many syllables).

Its not the fares going up for me (although it is annoying) its the sham of a service we have to put up with. Busses turn up when they feel like with drivers who dont care. I'm quite shocked Strke union hasnt gone on strike in over two years they must be feeling poorly or either that or the chocolate in the vending machines is now cheep enough.

We need some sort of tough regulator on this industry to champion consumers.

So, to clarify, what ticket do I need to buy to be able to ride both Stagecoach and First buses on the 120 route? This is really confusing.

I believe (from this and the Optio Red thread) that officially either of the company's weekly passes will be honoured on all 120s. However its not so clear in practice and bus drivers have been turning down each other's passes.

I agree - confusing!

If you buy a Student weekly ticket on a Stagecoach bus it's valid on Stagecoach only, same with the First ticket, only valid on First buses.

Student passes must be produced along with the ticket, if you don't have your student card, then the ticket is not valid (and you have to pay the full fare), both must be shown together.

I've noticed that more and more people are getting the £7 student ticket, that are not entitled to one, and don't have a student card to produce, and are annoyed that they have to pay full fare.

What's wrong with people in Sheffield? Not one person-except me-has suggested taking the transport services back into public ownership.

And to think that Sheffield was known as the, "Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire".

Is everybody on this Forum a neoliberal ?

So if i got the £12 first week, i can use it on stagecoach 120? Because thats not what the stagecoach driver was saying the other morning.

That's what I understand, there's more here: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1292384 but I'm not an authority. I'd love a straight answer too.

What buses are you riding?

I get slack if I accidently cover my face on my ID, let alone being able to buy it without one!
