Pritt Stick   10 #63 Posted July 17, 2006 I don't really give a damn about the dam - happy to concede it's location...but the food is trad Punjabi (Indian / Pakistani) food.
 Share this content via...

AYBABTU Â Â 10 #65 Posted July 18, 2006 Does Mangla have a website or can someone scan a copy of the takeaway menu & post online? Â Otherwise , can anyone reccomend a really good vegetarian indian takeaway? Something more authentic than the usual frozen veg in brown sauce? Yog Sothoth   10 #66 Posted July 19, 2006 Must try the Mangla! best I've been to is Zeenat, which wasn't cheap but was superb. Where's Butlers? I can't find Brook Hill on the map.
 Share this content via...
Banjo Griner   10 #67 Posted July 19, 2006 Otherwise , can anyone reccomend a really good vegetarian indian takeaway? Something more authentic than the usual frozen veg in brown sauce? Bilash - Sharrow Lane or sumfink - vege specialists apparently but I always ask for extra animal flesh. Or try Jahflong in Crookes, another fave. Annie-Lou2   10 #68 Posted July 24, 2006 The Mangla is superb best rogan josh I have ever eaten. Everest is good too but not as good as mangla. Mangla do deliver and do lots of veggie meals too.  Also Mangla is really cheap about £12 for two, starters and main meal. You have to take your own wine or cans or get a jug of beer from the East House across the road.  Also the East House is well worth a visit any way. VickyA Â Â 10 #69 Posted July 24, 2006 The new Saffron Club, underneath the old Glossop Rd baths and next to Hu Wei chinese is good - friendly staff, quick service, and the food is tasty. The best bit was the spiced aubergine side dish - quite garlicky, but dead nice. Also not too far from the Devonshire Cat, so an opportunity for a few pints of good beer before (and potentially after - not TOO filling) a decent curry - ace! Hummybabe   10 #70 Posted July 24, 2006 Best I have had is The Everest on Chesterfield Road, ate there this Tuesday passed, excellent service, ambience and the food was top notch - even the beer which to be honest is usually pretty lame in restaurants was good. I agree Everest is quite good.
 Share this content via...

Smifffy   10 #72 Posted July 25, 2006 The best for me is Butler's Balti. The food is bang on. Chilli Pakora starter set's it up. The curry's are moorish. The guy's who work there need a mention they are good lads. For those who don't know it's situated opposite the old Jessop's hospital
 Share this content via...
