Looks like it has been 90 mins since at least July 17.

 

Starreader, what is your invoice for? The car park is still free for up to 90 mins isn't it? And you've said that you were parked for 16 minutes?

Could anyone help me with the time limit for parking in Bradfield Road Car park Hillsborough?

 

I have just received a parking charge notice from Highview Parking today 31/01/18 for £85 which occurred on 17th October 2017. The notice states I was parked for 16 minutes.

 

Please can anyone advise me if it has changed from a 2 hour maximum stay and do I have to pay the fine?

 

I know I should've read the signs before I left my car but having previously parked their a while ago I was under the impression you didn't have to pay for a short stay.

Hi guys,

 

wanting some advice on a parking charge.

 

So i had been parking at the NCP on the wicker for last 2 years.

 

In November it was icy and they decided to close the entire top floor, which meant the rest of the car park was full by the time i got there (start work at 11am)

 

There were no signs advising the car park was full or that the top floor was closed.

 

At this point i was running late so i parked in one of their disabled bays. I know i shouldn't but felt i had no option and never see people using these. Also 2 hours later i came back and moved it.

 

A month later i get a letter in the post saying i had been fined £100 for this (also it shows a pcn on my window which was never there) I have disputed this to Popla and have been unsuccessful as by parking in their carpark i have agreed to their terms and conditions.

 

So i am wondering if i just leave this now, what is the worst that could happen? I.E court/debt collectors, if this happens what extra charges could i potentially incur if i am forced to pay it? also i presume i should only pay debt collectors coming from the county or high court?

Police/local authority parking tickets are enforceable.

 

Any other private parking ticket, bin it and you won't hear from them again. If you do, put it in the bin again. Do not respond to them because by doing that you are acknowledging their right to issue the ticket and they will chase you for it.

Please, it you're going to offer advice, at least make a little effort to ensure its accuracy. Ignoring has been bad news since the introduction of POFA (in Oct 2012 I think)

OK, ignore, if you don't mind playing the odds, or if a CCJ doesn't bother you.

2018 Court Hearings 152 so far this year and we're only 2 months in.

 

Any court hearings uncontested/ignored will lead to a judgement in favour of the PPC.

Hence the current advice is, don't pay, but don't ignore either.

Seek advice from the likes of Pepipoo, or MSE, and be wary of some of the groups on Facebook.

Be wary of websites which charge for taking on your case as well, since some are reportedly as bad as the PPCs.

 

N.B treat FOTL advice with the contempt it deserves, as far as the UK legal process is concerned, though it does make amusing reading sometimes.

Your own figures show that less than 1% of these tickets issued end in court action. With millions of tickets issued per year they cannot all be pursued in the civil courts.

 

So how are those less than 1% of cases chosen? They are all cases where the person who has been issued with a ticket engages at some level with the company which issued them.

 

Cite me just one case where someone who has put the parking invoice straight into the bin has ended up being pursued through the courts.

Thanks guys, so if it goes to court, then yeah ofcourse ill pay. But what id like to know is what extra charges i could incur if it goes to court? anyone know roughly how much?

I did not respond to them at all (just kept everything they sent). Then got a notice of pending court action (pre action protocol stuff), and eventually a claim form from the county court business centre.
